The Encounter Between Material and Design

On the occasion of the Lausanne Design Days, Cristallina Design presented the project developed in collaboration with ECAL / École cantonale d’art de Lausanne, born from the encounter between Cristallina marble and a new generation of international designers.

A project that takes shape from the material itself: from visiting the quarry and discovering its distinctive characteristics and production processes, to designing objects capable of translating this heritage into a contemporary language.

An Ancient Material, A Contemporary Vision

Participating in the Lausanne Design Days offered an opportunity to present Cristallina marble beyond its traditional dimension, highlighting its geological identity, distinctive character and potential within contemporary design.

The creations on display emerge from the dialogue between craftsmanship, design research and the culture of the territory, transforming a material formed millions of years ago into objects conceived to be experienced, cherished and passed on through generations.
